Wichita man sentenced to just over 9 years in prison for fatal shooting
WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Preston Reynolds has been sentenced to 108 months in prison for a 2020 shooting that left one man dead and injured another.
The 21-year-old pled guilty to:
- Two counts of voluntary manslaughter.
- Attempted distribution of a controlled substance.
In May of 2020, police responded to a shooting at Magnolia Woods Apartments just east of 13th and West streets. When they arrived, they found a 21-year-old who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.
A 19-year-old man also suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was located in the parking lot.
During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that Missy Barber was involved in the incident. Barber and Reynolds were at the apartment to "conduct a drug transaction."
Barber will be sentenced on February 23.
