WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -  Leaders in a Wichita community have seen frustration boil over due to an ongoing trash problem. They decided to take matters into their own tiny hands.

When Xamora Blackmon and Carlito Hill are not solving math problems or completing reading assignments, they pick up trash in their neighborhood.

Both kids credit their grandmother for instilling the value of taking pride in where you live.  They have even inspired others, who live around them, to do the same.

Some of the trash items oftentimes included in their pick-up are empty liquor bottles.

The kids are hoping this will inspire even more people to keep their neighborhoods clean.
