Teenage suspect in custody after 16-year-old dies in south Wichita shooting
WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - A teenager has died after a shooting in south Wichita on Friday.
The Wichita Police Department say the shooting took place around 8:30 in the 2200 block of South Millwood Street. When police arrived they found 16-year-old Seaquori Smith with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.
Authorities have arrested a 15-year-old who they say was recklessly handling a gun ending in a single shot being fired, hitting Smith's upper body. The teenage suspect called police to report the incident
