LAS VEGAS (KAKE) — A Las Vegas high school senior has died after experiencing a cardiac arrest at his school, the school says.

Jordan Brister, 18, was found unresponsive in a bathroom at Amplus Academy after gym class last Tuesday. He was in the bathroom for around 25 minutes before he was found. A GoFundMe says Jordan reportedly suffered a sudden cardiac arrest "with no explanation why." He died on Sunday.

"The Amplus community sends our love and condolences to the Brister family as well as to all of Jordan's family, friends and acquaintances," the school said in a Facebook post with a link to the GoFundMe.

News of Brister's death comes after another Las Vegas high school student, 16-year-old Ashari Hughes, collapsed and died during a flag football game, KTNV reports.

According to KLAS, Jordan and his family moved to Vegas from Louisiana two years ago. He planned on joining the military after graduating from high school.

Jordan's family said they don't know what happened other than his heart stopped. He had no history of medical issues or drug use.
