WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -  The Wichita Police Department (WPD) continues to investigate a shooting that killed a man and woman and critically injured a 22-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man, all from Wichita.

Officers were dispatched to the shooting in the 900 block of S. Mission at 9:55 pm Friday. When they arrived, they found two victims who had multiple gunshot wounds. They were taken to an area hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Both underwent surgery.

During the initial contact, officers learned that two additional victims were inside an apartment near where the 22-year-old male and the 42-year-old male were shot. They entered the apartment and found a man and woman dead.

Due to the lack of cooperation from some of the victims and witnesses, investigators have not been able to fully determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

This was not a random incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
