2 killed, 4 hurt in crash on county road in Kansas

ST. JOHN, Kan. (KAKE) - Two people died and four others were hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash at a county road intersection in central Kansas.
The accident happened at around 2:20 p.m. Wednesday at NE 50th Avenue and NE 40th Street in Stafford County. That's about five miles east of St. John.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reports a northbound Dodge Ram and a westbound Saturn Vue collided in the intersection. Both vehicles left the roadway and went into a ditch where the pickup rolled and came to rest upright.
A passenger in the pickup, 51-year-old Peter Laskowski of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, died at a hospital in Pratt. The driver of the Saturn, 17-year-old Tate Martin of Ellinwood, Kansas, was taken to a Wichita hospital where he died.
The 21-year-old driver and and one of the passengers in the pickup, a 52-year-old man, had minor injuries, and a 64-year-old male passenger suffered serious injuries.
A 17-year-old male passenger in the Saturn also had serious injuries.
The patrol's online crash log shows no one involved was wearing a seat belt.
