Dodge City police arrest babysitter accused of fracturing 4-year-old's skull

DODGE CITY, Kan. (KAKE) - Police in southwest Kansas have arrested a 28-year-old woman accused of fracturing the skull of a 4-year-old child in her care. 

According to Dodge City police, Brianna Edwards was arrested Wednesday and booked for aggravated counts of battery and child abuse. 

Officers responded on Friday, November 18 to a local hospital for the report of a 4-year-old with a fractured skull. 

"Through investigation officers were told the child received the injuries while with her babysitter," DCPD said in a release. "Officers continued the investigation and later applied for an arrest warrant for Edwards." 

Police did not release the child's current condition any other details surrounding the child's injury.
