Lansing Correctional Facility inmate dies under observation, says KDOC

LANSING, Kan. (KAKE) - A prisoner has died at the Lansing Correctional Facility after being found unresponsive Saturday.
The Kansas Department of Corrections and the Kansas Bureau of Investigations are investigating the death of 53-year-old George Dobbs who passed away while under observation.
George Dobbs was serving 89-months after being convicted in Leavenworth, Kan. of distribution/possession with the intent to distribute heroin or meth and possession of paraphernalia with the intent to manufacture/grow GE5 plants.
Dobbs was in the prison infirmary when staff found him unresponsive. They began life-saving measures but after emergency medical services arrived, Dobbs was pronounced dead.
The cause of death is currently unknown pending the results of an independent autopsy.
The investigation is ongoing.
