Man sleeping in car in middle of the highway charged with DUI
HAMILTON COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) - A Syracuse, Kansas, man has been taken into custody after running from the authorities when they found him asleep in his car in the middle of the highway Friday night.
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office says Edwin Danilo Bueso Jeronimo had fallen asleep in his car, with multiple open alcoholic drinks in the front seat, on the highway near K27 and County Road 31.
When deputies woke him, he ran through a field in while it was 6 degrees outside. He was found around 20 minutes later and taken him into custody.
Jeronimo has been charged with DUI, interference with a law enforcement officer, not having a driver's license and transporting an open container.
