Wichita man sentenced to over 10 years for drive-by shooting that injured child
WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Wichita man arrested for injuring an 11-year-old girl in a drive-by shooting has been sentenced to over 10 years in prison.
Around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12, officers responded to a shooting in the 1400 block of North Harding near 13th and Oliver. They found the girl laying in her bed with a gunshot wound.
Police arrested and charged Byron Purcell with aggravated battery, criminal discharge of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon by a felon.
He has been sentenced to over 10 year in prison.
