Wichita's Veterans Day Parade is Saturday
Veterans Day is a week away, but you can celebrate our veterans this weekend.
A Veterans Day parade will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in downtown Wichita. The parade starts at Central and Main and ends at the WaterWalk where a big celebration will follow.
This year's parade focuses on honoring women veterans and their service and sacrifice.
Recommended Parking and Disbanding Area:
Parking at or around Century II will be limited. The best place to park to facilitate leaving after the parade is the parking lot behind the WaterWalk building or the parking lot at the closed Gander Mountain. There are also several city operated lots near Waco and 1st/2nd Streets.
Wichita Transit will be providing a shuttle bus from parade ending location (specifically WaterWalk/Boathouse) to parade beginning location until 3:00 p.m. with multiple stops between as needed.
Meet & Greet
There will be a Meet & Greet following the parade at WaterWalk Place. The Wichita State Shocker Sound Machine will be providing musical entertainment. Attendees will have a chance to meet the Parade Honorees, a number of other veterans and distinguished participants.
There will also be a number of food trucks with a variety of food.
There are also parades this weekend across the state including in Emporia and Hays.
