Police chief: Woman killed, man hurt in crash in Park City
PARK CITY, Kan. (KAKE) - The Park City police chief says an 70-year-old woman was killed when her car collided with another vehicle Thursday morning.
The accident happened just before 6 a.m. on 53rd Street North at Air Cap Drive, which is west of I-135. Police Chief Phil Bostian said Paula McKinney was heading west and attempted to turn left to a convenience store when her car was struck by an eastbound vehicle.
McKinney, of Park City, was transported to a Wichita hospital where she died. The 26-year-old man driving the eastbound vehicle was hospitalized with serious injuries.
Chief Bostian said the crash remains under investigation.
Eastbound 53rd Street was closed between Broadway and Air Cap Drive. The scene was cleared early Thursday afternoon.
