WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - A suspect has been arrested for Monday night armed robbery after police K-9 led officers to the garage the man was hiding in.

Shortly after 6 p.m. the Wichita Police Department dispatched officers to the 1900 block of south Hydraulic on reports of an armed robbery in the area. When officers arrived they learned that 31-year-old Joseph Resto-Isaac was suspected of robbing the DD Smoke Shop at gunpoint demanding money, cigarettes and watches. 

WPD Officer Nail and K-9 Nash were sent to the last location he was known to be where Nash was able to pick up his trail and follow it to a garage in the 1800 block of south Ellis. Resto-Isaac was found in the rafters armed with a small caliber handgun and was in possession of methamphetamines.

Resto-Isaac has been arrested and charged with aggravated robbery with a dangerous weapon, criminal possession of a weapon by a felon, and possession of opiates. His case will be presented to the District Attorney's office and his bail has been set at $100,000.
