Wichita man sentenced for stabbing stepdad, beating him with baseball bat in 2019
WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Tyler Lewis was sentenced Friday to 184 months in prison for beating his stepfather with a baseball bat and stabbing him multiple times in 2019.
At the time of the incident, police responded to a stabbing in the 4800 block of South Fern, near 47th Street South and Seneca. When they got to the scene, they found a 59-year-old man with critical injuries.
An investigation revealed that Lewis went to his stepfather's house and a disturbance ensued. That's when police say Lewis beat and stabbed the victim.
The victim remained hospitalized in fair condition for 4 days. Lewis was then arrested at an apartment complex in the 2700 block of South Topeka.
