WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Jeffery Sanders has been found guilty of the child sex crimes he was charged with back in 2018.

The former Wichita volleyball coach was found guilty of:

  • Three counts of sexual exploitation of a child.
  • One count of aggravated intimidation of a witness.

Police arrested Sanders, who was 44 years old at the time, in March and October of 2018. He was originally charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a child.

The Sedgwick County district attorney's office said the March 2018 arrest followed a month-long investigation by the Exploited and Missing Child Unit. The alleged victim was a 16-year-old.

Sanders owned the Wichita Volleyball Academy where he coached hundreds of girls each year. He also offered private volleyball lessons and was a former assistant coach at Wichita State University.

He will be sentenced November 18 of this year.
