Massage therapist arrested for sexual battery of 3 women, Wichita police say
WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Wichita police have arrested a 32-year-old man for sexual battery after three women reported being sexually assaulted by a massage therapist.
Sedgwick County Jail records show Zachary Alan Sample, of Belle Plaine, was booked Thursday on three counts. He was held Friday on $25,000 bond.
Police spokesperson Trevor Macy said officers got a report on May 23 from a 38-year-old woman who said a male massage therapist assaulted her during a massage at an east Wichita massage establishment. The suspect, identified as Sample, was an employee of the business at the time.
Two additional women, ages 26 and 29, reported being sexually assaulted by Sample during the month of May, Officer Macy said.
"After extensive follow-up by detectives, a warrant was issued for Sample's arrest...," Macy said in a release.
The establishment where the crimes allegedly took place has been cooperative with the investigation, the release said. Sample is no longer employed there.
Sample's LinkedIn page says he is a licensed massage therapist and worked at Massage Envy from September 2018 until June 2022. The page says he's an employee at Oasis Massage in Derby. As of Friday afternoon, the business had a staff listing for Zach Sample.
