Chiefs 1969 champion reunited with lost Super Bowl ring
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KMBC) - A special reunion for former Chiefs safety Jim Kearney.
He noticed his 1969 Super Bowl championship ring was missing after a golf session at the Shoal Creek Golf Couse. He said his finger was taped up, which may have caused the ring to slide off.
But it was in the parking lot where Dylan Garcia stumbled upon the Chiefs gold.
"It said super bowl on it," Garcia said. "Didn't know if it was real or fake."
Garcia held onto it until he brought it back to its legendary owner.
"I'm glad he got it. I cant imagine losing something that valuable," Garcia said.
Kearney said the ring represents all the hard work that went into winning the title that year.
"When you look at this, you think, 'I muist have been pretty doggone good,'" Kearney said.
He said for Garcia to find it and make sure it was brought back safely goes to show there are plenty of good people in the world.
"It's a blessing from the good man above."
