Derek Schmidt wins Republican nod for governor, AP projects

TOPEKA, Kan. (KAKE) - The Associated Press has projected that Derek Schmidt, who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump, has won the Republican nomination for governor in Kansas primary election.
The AP has also projected Laura Kelly has won the Democratic nomination for governor. Kelly and Schmidt will face one another in November in the Kansas race for Governor.
It has also been projected that Jerry Moran has won the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate.
