Hutchinson man accused of strangling woman is arrested for attempted murder
HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KAKE) - Police in Hutchinson have arrested a 37-year-old man who allegedly strangled a woman on Saturday.
Officers responded at around 2:10 p.m. to a home after a neighbor reported a woman with facial injuries in front of the house. The neighbor also said the man had ushered the woman back inside.
HPD said arriving officers observed the man and woman inside but they would not open the door. They forced entry.
"Through the investigation it was determined the female had injuries consistent with being strangled," the department said in a release.
The suspect, Robert Michael, was arrested and booked for attempted second-degree murder and felony interference with law enforcement.
Kansas Department of Corrections records show Michael has a prior theft conviction. His sentence expired in May of 2021.
