Wichita police cite lack of cooperation in shooting that wounded 2
WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Wichita police say a lack of cooperation is hindering their investigation into an early-morning shooting that wounded two men.
Officers responded at around 3:45 a.m. Monday to a shooting call at the QuikTrip at Hydraulic and Wassall, where they located a 33-year-old man and a 39-year-old man with gunshot wounds. Both were hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The QuikTrip was closed for several hours.
Sgt. Howard Miller said the shooting actually happened at an apartment complex in the 4200 block of South Hydraulic. No arrests have been announced.
"Due to the lack of cooperation from the individuals involved, investigators have not been able to determine the circumstances of what led up to the shooting," Officer Juan Rebolledo said in a release.
The incident was not random, Rebolledo said. Anyone with information is asked at call WPD detectives at (316) 268-4407, the See Something Say Something hotline at (316) 519-2282 or Crime Stoppers at (316) 267-2111.
