Patrol: Kansas man dies when speeding Jeep crashes into his motorcycle
LANSING, Kan. (KAKE) - The Kansas Highway Patrol says a 40-year-old man was killed when a speeding Jeep crashed into his motorcycle in Leavenworth County.
It happened at around 9 p.m. Sunday about 5.6 miles west of Lansing on Eisenhower Road. The patrol reports a Jeep Renegade was heading east at a high rate of speed and went left of center, crashing into an oncoming Suzuki motorcycle.
The man on the motorcycle, Eric Chappell of Leavenworth, was killed.
The 19-year-old driver of the Jeep wasn't seriously hurt, and his 17-year-old passenger was unharmed.
