WEDNESDAY AM UPDATE:

Another soggy day setting up across North and South Central Kansas, as the slow moving area of low pressure meanders eastward.

Rain is expected to fall through much of the day, across the eastern half of the state, while Western Kansas may actually see a bit of sunshine. The heaviest rain is anticipated across North Central Kansas where 1 - 2" will be possible, with some locally higher amounts not out of the questions.

 Rain totals, in and around Wichita will be a bit lighter than yesterday with most communities picking up less than 1". With lighter totals across Southern Kansas, the flood warnings for Sedgwick, Sumner, Kingman and Harper counties will expire at 11am Wednesday.

Additional flooding will be possible, Wednesday for locations in North Central Kansas, especially if some spots pick up more than 2" of accumulation!

TUESDAY AM UPDATE:

Widespread rain has rolled into KAKEland and will continue through much of the day. As of 8AM Tuesday, Eisenhower National Airport in Wichita has received 2.51" of rain!

 The rain will gradually spread north through the day Tuesday, with a bit of a break anticipated near drive time for Wichita and South Central Kansas. The rain is expected to become increasingly spotty and light during the overnight hours, ahead of another widespread round for Wednesday.

Much of KAKEland can expected 0.5-2.0" or more during the day Tuesday and Wednesday!

 With more significant rain on the way, flooding will remain a concern for South Central Kansas. The light green colors on the map represent a flood watch lasting through Wednesday. The counties shaded in the darker green represent areas dealing with flooding.

Low lying areas should be monitored closely for rising waters and drivers should avoided flooded roadways at all costs!

MONDAY AM UPDATE:

A slow-moving weather maker, tracking across the Southern Plains, will bring soaking rain and even a few rumbles of thunder to KAKEland. Rain starts off light and spotty Monday, before turning more widespread Tuesday and Wednesday and this could lead to some flooding.

Tuesday will likely be a very soggy day across much of KAKEland with widespread rain starting in the morning and persisting into the afternoon. While Western and Northern Kansas will see very beneficial rain, the heaviest is expected across South Central Kansas where totals could reach 2"!

In the heaviest zone, flooding is a possibility in typical flood prone areas. Low lying areas should be monitored closely for rising waters and drivers should avoided flooded roadways at all costs! A Flood Watch has bee issued for the area expected to receive the highest rain totals. The Flood Watch is in effect through midnight Wednesday.
