TOPEKA, Kan. (KAKE) - The annual Kansas Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony was held at the Kansas State Capitol in Topeka Friday.

Families, friends, fellow law enforcement officers and the Honor Guard from across Kansas gathered at the Kansas Law Enforcement Memorial to honor and pay tribute to Kansas' fallen officers.

Governor Laura Kelly and Attorney General Derek Schmidt attended the event.

In a Facebook post Gov. Kelly said, “Law enforcement officers across the state risk their lives every day to protect and serve Kansans. Their admirable bravery warrants our sincerest appreciation, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice.”
