Kansas man arrested in Allen County homicide case
ALLEN COUNT, Kan. (KAKE) – The Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Allen County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a man in connection to the death of Richard Diehl.
At approximately 4:10 p.m. Friday, 78-year-old Raymond D. Maloney was arrested without incident at his home in La Harpe on suspicion of first-degree murder. He was booked into the Allen County Jail.
The KBI says, Diehl and Maloney were neighbors.
The investigation is still ongoing.
ALLEN COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) – The Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Allen County Sheriff’s Office are investigating after a man was found dead in the shop outside of his home in La Harpe.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the KBI on Wednesday, and at approximately 6:50 a.m. KBI agents responded to the scene to investigate.
The investigation indicates that at around 9:55 a.m. Tuesday morning, the Allen County Sheriff’s Office received a call from someone who had located a deceased family member.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered the body of 68-year-old Richard Diehl, of La Harpe. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary autopsy results indicate that the manner of Diehl’s death was homicide.
The investigation is ongoing, authorities do not believe a threat to the public exists related to this crime.
