GARDEN CITY, Kan. (KAKE) – On Tuesday, a fire took place in Garden City at 2808 N. Taylor Plaza. The fire department was dispatched to the fire around 4:32 p.m.

There was heavy amounts of smoke and fire coming from a second story window. The GCFD encountered "overwhelming heat and smoke conditions" when they entered the building to fight the fire.

They determined that it was unsafe to be in the inside of the building and an evacuation order was mandated. The GCFD then moved to a defensive fire attack due to the amount of fire.

At approximately 6:52 p.m. the fire was considered to be under control. The fire is still under investigation to determine to cause. No injuries were reported.
