WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - The Wichita Gun Club is hosting a “garage sale” style cash only event Friday and Saturday.

It’s selling off ten years worth of ammunition, magazines, and other gun accessories it's collected since the business started in 2012. Owner Jess Hancock said everything at the store’s old location must go.

“I’ve had people from around the country reaching out, wanting to buy the whole lot, you know, making me great offers to take everything, but we’ve been here a long time, and we really wanna serve our Wichita local community,” Hancock said.

The Wichita Gun Club opened its new location Downtown earlier this month. Hancock said it needs to be out of its old location off Kellogg and Edgemoor by April 30.

“Over 10 years, we have collected a lot of stuff,” he said.

The business is also downsizing. His solution? The sale.

“Maybe came in with a used gun that we bought, and somebody gave us half a box of something, and we can’t resell that,” Hancock said. “So, we’ve hung on to it for all these years.”

The sale is cash only. People also can’t buy any licensed firearms, because Hancock can only sell those at his new location now that it opened.

“You can just offer me what you think it’s worth, and if I agree with you, then we’ll have a deal,” he said.

The sale starts at 4 p.m. Friday and will run until 8 p.m. or when supplies run out. It’s first come first serve.

“I’m a little scared of what might show up tomorrow actually,” Hancock said.

Hancock said it will continue into Saturday, starting 8 a.m., but he’s not sure if anything will be left. He’s debating closing the new location Friday to help staff the old one, one last time.

The Wichita Gun Club’s old location is at 504 S. Edgemoor.
