SALINA, Kan. (KAKE) - Salina police have arrested a 20-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl for months.

Capt. Paul Forrester said Caden Starmer was booked Sunday for 26 counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, five counts off aggravated indecent solicitation of a child and seven counts of breach of privacy.

The girl was in the bathroom of a Salina home on Sunday when police said she found a cellphone that contained photos of her, the Salina Post reports. The girl told the home's resident who confronted Starmer.

"He admitted to the resident that he had taken pictures of the 10-year-old while she was in the bathroom," Capt. Forrester said.

The resident then reported to police.

Forrester said investigators learned "that over the last six months, the 20-year-old had been sexually assaulting the 10-year-old." He added that the girl regularly stays at the residence.

No bond amount for Starmer was listed in online jail records.
