GARDEN CITY, Kan. (KAKE) - Police in southwest Kansas say an 81-year-old stalking suspect took a knife to a woman's tires and beat on her windows in a school drop-off line.

The incident happened Monday at Florence Wilson Elementary in Garden City. Police say Richard Goldy, who had allegedly been stalking the woman for months, approached her car and used a pocketknife to puncture her tires.

After puncturing a hole in the woman's tires, police say Goldy screamed curse words at the woman while punching her windows. He left the scene before the police arrived.

Police later located Goldy at his home. He was booked in the Finney County Jail on charges of stalking, criminal damage to property, and disorderly conduct.

USD 457 said Goldy is a former crossing guard but left the district in 2020.
