Patrol identifies 2 killed in crash on I-235 in north Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - The Kansas Highway Patrol has identified two people killed Wednesday in a crash on I-235 in north Wichita.

The accident happened at around 6 p.m. in the northbound lanes just west of Broadway. The patrol said a southbound gray Dodge pickup crossed the median and collided head-on with a northbound FedEx box truck.

The man driving the pickup, 56-year-old Darth Cline, died at the scene. The FedEx truck driver, 30-year-old Tyler Bauer, died at a local hospital. Both were from Wichita.

The KHP's online crash log states Cline was not wearing a seat belt. It's unclear what cause him to drive across the median and into northbound traffic.

The patrol on Thursday asked for the community's help in finding witnesses to the crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact Lt. Aaron McGuire at (316) 744-0451.
