WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Wichita police say a 73-year-old woman who was struck and killed by a teenage driver backing out of a parking space over the weekend. 

Officers responded at around 4:30 p.m. Saturday to an injury accident near Marshalls in the 2600 block of North Greenwich. They arrived to find Luella Beemer who had been injured by a vehicle. She was transported to an area hospital where she later died.

Police spokesperson Trevor Macy said Tuesday that investigators learned a 15-year-old girl was backing out of a parking stall and hit Beemer, who was getting into her own vehicle.
