Man charged with murder, arson in deadly El Dorado house fire

EL DORADO, Kan. (KAKE) - A 46-year-old El Dorado man has been charged with first-degree murder and aggravated arson in connection to a house fire on Friday.

David Poulter was also charged Monday with assault on a law enforcement officer, a detective with the El Dorado Police Department said. 

Crews responded January 7 to the fire at a home in the 300 block of North Taylor. The police department told KAKE News that first responders arrived to learn that the victim was inside of the home. Crews were able to get that person out and began life saving measures, but the victim did not survive.

The victim's name has not been released.
