WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE)- A special assignment carried out by The Wichita Police Department led to the arrest of 16 individuals for various sex trafficking charges on Thursday.

WPD announced on a Facebook post that Officers from the North Community Policing, North Community Response team, Vice and the Broadway Corridor Team were apart of the assignment that led to the arrests. 

The post also stated that over the last four-years a total of 22 sex trafficking specials assignments have been conducted in the Broadway corridor. 

A total of 201 individuals have been arrested for various sex trafficking charges during these types of assignments.
