WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Police have arrested a 21-year-old man who was fired upon when he allegedly pointed gun at his ex-girlfriend and her current boyfriend. 

Tristan Calderon was held without bond Tuesday morning on two counts of aggravated assault. 

Officers responded at around 11 a.m. Monday to a disturbance with shots fired in the 200 block of South Erie, near Douglas and Hillside. The Wichita Police Department said on social media that a woman reported Calderon drove by her and her boyfriend and pointed a handgun at them. 

"The female’s boyfriend fired multiple shots in self-defense that struck the Calderon’s vehicle he fled," the department's Facebook post says. "No one was injured."

The WPD Domestic Intervention Violence & Reduction Team worked with the Violent Crimes Community Response Team quickly located Calderon and his vehicle near Lincoln and Oliver.

WPD said officer arrested Calderon without incident and recovered a firearm. The case will be presented to the DA's office for formal charges. 

"This is another example of officers working together and taking immediate action to hold domestic violence offenders accountable, allowing for victims of domestic violence to seek protection orders, develop safety plans, and utilize resources from community-based advocates."
