SALINA, Kan. (KAKE) - Salina police say the death of a 43-year-old woman whose body was found at a local park in June was accidental.

The department said Wednesday in a news release that Kristie Gonner's death was due to a combination of drugs and underlying health conditions. Her body was discovered near the south entrance of Lakewood Park on June 1.

Salina police have identified a 43-year-old local woman who was found dead in a park early Tuesday morning. 

Officers responded shortly after 6 a.m. to the report of a woman lying face down near the south entrance of Lakewood Park. She was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The woman was identified Wednesday as Kristie Gonner (Fisher). Police have not said how she died. 

"The police department continues to gather information in regards to the circumstances leading to Fisher’s death," SPD said in a statement. "The police department would like to thank the public for information that has been provided so far..."
