SEDGWICK COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) - A 30-year-old man has been arrested in the shooting deaths of two people at a mobile home in southeast Wichita.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday that Steven Fessenden, of Wichita, was jailed in connection to the deaths of 42-year-old Nathan Brock and 41-year-old Trisha Benjamin. Jail records show he was booked for two counts of first-degree murder and interference with law enforcement.

Authorities responded at around 5 a.m. Saturday to a report of shots fired at the Englewood Mobile Home Park near MacArthur and Southeast Boulevard. They arrived to find Brock and Benjamin dead inside one of the homes.

The case will be presented to the DA's office. The sheriff's office did not say what led up to the shooting.

Lauretta Strauch woke up Saturday morning to police, investigators and crime scene tape right outside her front door.

"It's horrible. I mean, especially right across the damn street," said Strauch.

Someone called the police just after 5 a.m. to a shooting in mobile home near MacArthur and Southeast Boulevard.

"When we arrived on scene, we did find two subjects that were pronounced dead on scene," said Sedgwick County Sheriff Lt Daniel Oliver.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office said it was 42-year-old Nathan Brock and 41-year-old Trisha Benjamin found dead inside.

"Not surprised. They had something go on here about two weeks ago with some gunshots. Scared the hell out of me, you know," said Strauch.

Strauch said it's usually a quiet area, but ever since the new neighbors moved in about five months ago, it's been nothing but trouble.

"This lady right here, she lived here for 30 years. And she befriended them, and they robbed her," said Strauch.

While investigators are still working to figure out exactly what happened, Strauch said she hopes this is the last of the violence.

"It's a quiet park. It really is. I really don't know what they got going on over there. I hope it's not them dead," said Strauch.

The sheriff's office released the victims' names on Monday but did not provide any new developments in the investigation.
