WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Wichita police have arrested a 32-year-old man who allegedly raped a woman at knifepoint at the business where she worked. 

Jail records show Arden Vanhorn was booked Sunday evening and faces more than two dozen counts that include aggravated kidnapping, aggravated battery strangulation, two counts of aggravated sodomy, two counts of rape, obstruction and aggravated escape.

Officers responded at around 4 p.m. Sunday to a welfare check at Harry and Poplar. They located an injured 47-year-old woman who reported the suspect entered the business in the 1500 block of East Harry while she was working, held a knife to her, strangled and battered her, and sexually assaulted her.

Police spokesperson Charley Davidson said the woman was able to flee the business and call the police.

"Through the investigation, investigators learned of Vanhorn’s involvement in the case," Davidson said. "They learned he had been arrested and booked into jail stemming from an aggravated battery and theft investigation on Sunday evening."

The investigation in ongoing and the cases will be presented to the district attorney's office. 

Officer Davidson said Arden has multiple previous felony convictions and is registered as a violent offender through the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. A record on the KBI's website for "Arden Van Horn" shows two aggravated assault convictions.

He's spent time on Community Corrections in Butler County for burglary and criminal use of a financial card, and in Sedgwick County for theft and aggravated assault.
