(KAKE)- A Hand Up Ministries helps people in the Wichita area who are in need of clothes, shoes, hygiene products and more all free of charge.

“We just felt that our mission was to get into the streets and to serve individuals in the community,” said Marco Tucker, the president of A Hand Up.

Just this weekend giving away food to hundreds of families for the Thanksgiving holiday.

And this year more than ever they are finding themselves serving more people in the community who need a hand up.

“People are out of jobs, kids are out of school, people are sick. With that being said, the community needs more,” said Joy Campbell, the vice president of A Hand Up.

As we head into the holiday season, if you’re looking for ways to spread cheer and help your neighbors, A Hand Up is always accepting donations. You can drop them off or send money to the New Life Outreach Church at 1156 N Oliver.

“If you have shoes, you have clothes, you have coats, whatever you have, you can send it here to A Hand Up Ministries, we are here in the New Life Outreach Building,” said Tucker.

KAKE News and the DeVaughn James Injury Lawyers are honored to present A Hand Up Ministries with a $500 check as this week’s “Wins for Kansas” recipient.
