OAK GROVE, Mo. (KAKE) — Officials say ten women three kids were found in a recent human trafficking operation in the Kansas City area.

WDAF reports the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Oak Grove police and the Missouri Attorney General’s Office Human Trafficking Task Force worked together on the operation last week in Jackson County.

The ten women who were located were offered various services including food and medical care. The three children, all under the age of 5, were placed in protective custody.

Police detained five men, according to the Kansas City Fox affiliate. The investigation is ongoing.
