Oklahoma man arrested after threatening an Ark City woman with a knife
ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. (KAKE) - An Oklahoma man was arrested by the Arkansas City Police Department early Friday morning on multiple charges after he allegedly threatened someone with a knife.
Just after 1 a.m. Friday Ark City police officers responded to a report that a suspect on the 1300 block of N. 13th St. had allegedly threatened to kill a 24-year-old Arkansas City woman with a knife.
When officers arrived, the woman and her children had exited the apartment safely.
The woman reported that 26-year-old Jeremy Allen Cahoon of Newkirk, Oklahoma, had threatened to kill her over a debt.
Officers received consent to search the apartment and found Cahoon hiding in the attic. After Cahoon damaged the roof and almost fell through, he exited the attic with no further incident and was taken into custody.
Cahoon faces charges of one felony count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threat. He also faces one misdemeanor count of criminal damage to property.
Cahoon was booked into the Cowley County Jail and has a $13,000 bond.
