Anchor / Reporter

Shane Ewing anchors Good Morning Kansas, Good Morning KAKEland and KAKE News at 11. Despite living in numerous places along his journey to the Sunflower State, Shane calls Kansas his one true home. He lives in Wichita with his wife, Liz, a life-long Kansan. Shane and Liz have a 3-year-old daughter, Brynn, and a 1-year-old son, Beckett. Shane believes Wichita is the very best place to raise a family and is enjoying every day in KAKEland!

Graduating Magna Cum Laude from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, his pursuit of broadcasting the news led him to Montana, where he reported news and sports in Butte, Bozeman and Missoula.

Shane joined the KAKE News team in 2011 as a sports reporter and served as Sports Director for three years. He has covered Wichita State and KU basketball in the Final Four, along with Kansas State football's ascent to becoming the top-ranked team in the country. His favorite sport, though, is baseball. That's why his coverage of the Royals in back-to-back World Series will always stand out among his most thrilling career achievements.

Shane was honored with the 'Best Sportscast' award from the Kansas Association of Broadcasters in 2014 and 2015 before transitioning to the news desk in the mornings.

Shane most enjoys exploring local restaurants with his family. He also watches too many movies and takes too many pictures of Brynn. You may be able to find him on the golf course, where his passion for the sport far outweighs his ability.
