TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Preliminary hearings are set for two men charged with breaking into a Topeka residence in November.

Monroe Lockhart and Jacob Barnett were in court Thursday. Lockhart had a preliminary hearing set for March 1st. Barnett is scheduled for February 29.

They face charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threat. Authorities say they broke into a residence at SE 19th and Adams, assaulted a woman with a knife and threatened to kill a man who also was there.

A third defendant, Anthony Talbert, remains in an Arizona jail on a $100,000 bond.

Lockhart was a partner in Mo's Express Convenience Store, while Talbert was the store's manager.
