TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A drive through town took a dramatic turn for a Topeka man Thursday afternoon.

The man was driving in the 1700 block of SE Adams just after 3 pm when he noticed smoke coming from the engine. He pulled to the side of the street and got out. What started as a few flames quickly grew intoa fireball that engulfed the vehicle.

The man was not hurt. Topeka Fire crews blocked Adams while they put out the fire.

13 News Photojournalist Eric Ives happened to drive past the scene just as the fire was starting. Watch his dramatic video above.
