TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Hundreds of families can put food on the table tonight, thanks to the generosity of local volunteers and donors.

Teaming with Harvesters, members of Town and Country Christian Church gave away more than 20,000 pounds of food Thursday.

The monthly food drive helps an estimated 500 to 600 families, who line up for more than a mile to receive food items, including fresh produce. Bimbo Bakeries donated hundreds of loaves of bread for this giveaway.

The Kansas Neurological Institute provides space for the church's monthly food distribution.
