Topeka (WIBW) - No need to wait out March Madness to learn if a Kansan will claim a national title.

One Shawnee County teen already has.

Caitlin Morrissey is a member of the rifle team from Texas Christian University which won the NCAA Championship over the weekend.

Morrissey was part of the first all-women's team to take the collegiate crown.

The Topeka West grad was honored by Shawnee County Commissioners Thursday. They proclaimed it "Caitlin Morrissey Day" in Shawnee County.

Morrissey is also an NRA All American.
