Topeka (WIBW) - Three USD 501 principals will retire at the end of the year.

They informed the school board of their intentions Thursday night.

Among those is Highland Park High School's principal for the past 16 years, Dale Cushinberry.

Cushinberry has been in the district for more than 30 years. He graduated from Highland Park in 1965.

Also retiring are Jardine Middle School's principal Jeanne Vawter as well as Mike Wilson, who was in charge of both State Street and Lundgren Elementary schools. Wilson moved back into the buildings this year after a stint in the district office as an assistant superindentant.

By announcing their intentions now, all three will receive incentive pay through the districts early notification policy.
