Topeka (WIBW) - Students at Topeka's Whitson Elementary school got a health lesson from a very special guest Wednesday.

Gov. Mark Parkinson spoke to kids about how to avoid getting the H1N1 virus. He told them to be smart, but not too afraid of the illness.

The kids also watched a video starring "Sid, the Science Kid" to drive the message home.

Organizers with the Kansas Dept. of Health and Environment think they're catching the kids at just the right age to make them aware of what they can do to stay healthy.
