A Junction City High School teacher is accused of having sex with a student.

27-year old Michah Cook made her first court appearance Thursday on one count of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.

Cook teaches physical education and health at Junction City High School.

Junction City Police say they were notified Wednesday of a possible unlawful sexual relationship between Cook and a male high school senior. Police say they executed three search warrants and seized evidence.

Cook is being held on $25,000 bond.

ok well i had a chance to get close to ms cook this year in school. she was there to talk to when i needed her she is a great teacher. i can see why people would think that she did because there were alo/t of rumors but i don;t know if they are true

I agree that if they both wanted it, then its whatever! But she is dumb for getting caught! I knew Ms. Cook and she NEVER acted as people say she did. I never knew her to make any comments or facials or anything...Its too bad...and to "Bro'Ken" about that "readin' and 'ritin'" crap. Get a life!! JC people have better educations than you have so dont give us that crap. You dont even know... we cut first and ask questions later!

So I dont know Ms. Cooke personally, but I will say this if she id dumb enough to committ a crime that could eventually end her career, and then keep the evidence...she deserves to sit in jail. But lets be real here people; It wasnt like he didnt want it just like she did. Regardless if she had authority or not it was a mutual agreement, but in any case she should have waited til he had graduated. Atleast then she would stil have had a job, and wouldnt be locked up. Oh well stupid people commit stupid crimes and then get locked up...its life. Oh and for the person who was talking trash on JCHS...shut up. Its called a typo and people do use im lingo on here too. Stop acting judgmental on the people who left comments and stick to the matter at hand

The victim isnt such a victim.. Give me a break!! Do you think she tied him up an fed him Viagra? We was just as willing as she was. Yes she was a teacher and should of known better but this innocent kid is not so innocent. I dont think she had any power as a teacher to say do me or else.. If you think the students arent doing it your hiding your head in the sand as well. Or maybe you forgot when you were in high school. This kid is probably smiling all day long..He got the goods while she will pay the price.

Reading these comments, I have to wonder what, if anything, this school teaches. The grammar and spelling are atrocious. "descusted"? "well you caught your hand in the cookie jar?" I think this school should dump PE and get back to "readin' and 'ritin'".

Just another case of a female teacher who couldn't resist breaking in a young male in the wonders of the female body! It is called PHYSICAL EDUCATION after all! I bet he wanted all the homework she'd give him too! I hope he was at least good enough to have her smiling afterwards, because she's going to regret ever getting caught with her panties down around her ankles now! Now, for all you whiners who say "No harm...", WOULD YOU SAY THAT IF IT WAS A MAN HAVING SEX WITH A YOUNG FEMALE? No of course not, that's perverted isn't it! Even when the girl came on to the older man right? The MAN should have KNOWN better right? So should this WOMAN! I say throw her perverted teaching self into the jail and keep her there. If she had wanted sex, there are plenty of grown men and women who would have nailed her legally! She's simply perveted and needs to be convicted and jailed like any male pervert would be! I find it absolutely astonishing that people come out of the woodwork to condemn the actions of these mostly female teachers, but could careless about the worldview being taught to the young people in the schools. They are being indoctrinated with secular humanism and moral relativism for 40 hours a week. They are taught there is no such thing as absolute right and wrong but than suddenly parents and others lose their minds when this type of stuff happens. I mean after all she is just doing what "evolution" has programmed her to do. She is an animal with sexual needs and she was having them fulfilled by a student. She is simply acting consistently with the worldview that is taught in the schools. If you want the Christian worldview kicked out the schools than you should live with the consequences of a secular worldview. Ideas have consequences!!!!! The consequences of abandoning a Biblical worldview is subjectivism which means everyone does what is "right" in their own minds!!!

i use to see her at the basketball games all the time. she has a son. she also hangs out with her friend that has a son. if i was friends with her, i would probably beat the mess out of her. she is disgusting and should go to jail. i mean its on the news everyday about a teacher having sex with a student. did she not think she would get caught? i mean come on. kids talk so much at that high school. everybodys business gets put on blast at that school. is she that desperate to find someone? if she wants intimacy that bad all she gotta do is go to the club and she can find it. but dont go to a high school and mess with a student. im disgusted and i graduated from there in 04. im glad i got one relative left in that school because they just letting anybody work there now. the high school need to get it together. its bad enough they got them lazy officials working there. now they hiring child molesters. junction city high school on some real shit this year!

mrs. cook made some bad decisions, but that doesnt make her a bad person. What she may have done was wrong, but we all make mistakes. she was one of the nicest teachers, and always cared about everyone.

I had Micha as a gym teacher last year when I was a Sophomore. Some of the guys in my class would make suggestive comments and gestures towards her, and she would always shun them off, telling them that she was a teacher and that it was wrong to do that, and that they need to stop. I can't believe that she did such a hypocritical thing. It is disgusting. I am in utter disbelief. Teachers everywhere should be smarter than that.

I also heard that she was involved with a Freshman! And what is worse, I know him!! He was in my class...I hope she knows what she has done was wrong and is embarassed! Because I am embarassed for her...it puts a bad name on JC.

Citizen, it is because she is in a position of authority over him. This has nothing to do with the physical act itself, she violated a public trust. When parents send their children to school, they trust that the teachers will not use their authoritative positions to have sex with them. The same is true of police officers, ministers, these are infulential positions and should never be misused.

He was a HS Senior. How old is he? The age of consent in KS is 16. Not exactly a wise decision on her part with the whole public trust issue, as she is a teacher but is she so horrible. If it was mutual consent and legal then why is she being arrested.

This makes me so sick! Micha Cook is (was) my health teacher this year and was my PE teacher last year. I can not believe this! I was just in her class today. Im absolutely DESCUSTED!
