Two juniors who ran onto the field naked at the Washburn Rural - Highland Park football game will not be getting off "scott free."

The Washburn Rural Juniors who streaked the game Friday night, caught on video by our crews at the game, are entitled to full hearings according to USD 437 administrators.

Their punishments would be determined after that hearing. No date has been set on that so far.

The district is not able to share any details on their discipline under student privacy laws.

I'm good friends with both of these guys and I'm outraged.. They didn't hurt anybody and they weren't really naked. What harm did they really do to anyone? nothing. And as for everyone that says they're so immature, did none of you have any fun in high school? We knew they would be getting disciplined but who would have thought our school would have done that. It's really dumb that all of our administration was laughing when it happened but when we had to go pick them up, they acted completely different. Hell, the damn cops were cracking up with laughter they thought it was awesome. They didn't do anything wrong, so for you people complaining about it get a f****** life.

I thought this was hilarious. More things like this need to be done at washburn rural. they deserve no punishment. wrhs needs to pull the stick out of their ass because i guarantee every single one of them were laughing too. Yes, there were grandparents there but they all thought it was funny too! my whole family was there and laughing about it including my grandparents. whats the point in kicking jesse and brook out of school for runing across the football field naked? at least they were having fun and showing school spirit unlike half the school. its pretty pathetic that it took them streaking to get everyone pumped. maybe if kids enjoyed washburn rural anymore it wouldn't be that hard. so in reality the administration is lucky to have brook and jesse as students to get everyone pumped up.

Supposedly yes the HP boys did get caught and didn't play in the game that night. Picking up trash after the games as punishment for what they did is a wonderful idea, someone needs to do it anyway since the spectators can't seem to do it themselves.

Expell them. they can run around naked on welfare while they pay off their student loans. There are consequences for our actions. It's far past time to set some standards.

I was at the WaRu game watching my brother play. I happened to look over toward Highland Parks side and saw the boys dash across the yard. I myself found it quite hilarious. Inappropiate...but quite hilarious. I really dont think they should be punished too hard. I also have to agree. I heard nothing about Park's little escapade with Rural's track. I wonder if they ever got caught.

I personally thought too that it was funny yet inappropriate - instead of suspending them, etc. have them help out the school by picking up trash after school events, janitorial work, etc..

Posted by: A Parent on Oct 9, 2008 at 12:56 PM
It may have been funny, but is still inappropriate. I think they need punishment of some sort, nothing severe. Because if it were one of my children they would get punished at home as well.

Posted by: WRMS parent Location: Topeka on Oct 9, 2008 at 12:53 PM
Although I don't really agree with what they did, I still don't think they need punished for it. Why make such a big deal out of a couple of streakers from WRHS? Why no news about the damage that HPHS players did to our field and track the night before this game?? We didn't hear anything about that on the news!!

Posted by: Anonymous Location: Topeka on Oct 9, 2008 at 12:29 PM
Alvero, you're worried about these kids being our future leaders?? Can they honestly be any worse than the ones we have?

Posted by: Anonymous on Oct 9, 2008 at 11:20 AM
Hey numb nuts...I believe they were acting like responsible "young" adults...thats why they did it....I believe what they did was harmless but on the other hand they do need some sort of punishment just nothing overboard....

Posted by: Anonymous Location: Topeka on Oct 9, 2008 at 10:03 AM
It was inappropriate and they should be reprimanded case closed. True enough no one was harmed, but they were out of line. Good clean fun my ***....they need to act like responsible young adults.

Posted by: Danielle Location: Topeka on Oct 9, 2008 at 09:40 AM
First off, the people who said that they never did this stuff when they were young, must have not had lives! Goodness, it's not that big of a deal. People need to get over themselves. It was clean, harmless fun. There's nothing wrong with it. And for the 50 and 60 year olds, you must of had a great life back in the day? Did they even have football then? LMAO. Just kidding they did. But have some fun. NO PUNISHMENT. 437 is to strict. This is why they're going to lose students. My kids will definitely not go to this school.

How funny!! Leave them alone streaking has been going on for years, oh they even wrote a song about it. They caused no harm to anyone.

Posted by: Dana Location: Topeka on Oct 8, 2008 at 11:15 PM
For those of you that think the guys should be punished, GET A LIFE!!! Obviously you failed to enjoy your teen years, probably one of those rejects who didn't know how to have a little fun. Leave these boys alone!! My own children are honor students, very upstanding good citizens, one graduated Suma Cum Lada and if one of them did this I would LMAO!! These boys don't need to be punished. 437 needs to be more concerned about the drug sales in the hallways that my kids have witnessed, the thugs taking money from the weaker students and the bullies. Time and time again my kids and I have brought this to the administration, but of course NO action was taken!!! LET THE STREAKERS STREAK!!!!

Posted by: Kris Location: Topeka on Oct 8, 2008 at 10:52 PM
OH PLEASE!!! What they did was harmless!! You people demanding punishment must have had pretty strict, boring lives. Have you did something wild'n crazy just for fun? Doubt it!! Its all you stuffy people that ruin everything for everybody else. Quit worrying about little things like this and get the REAL criminals!!!

Posted by: Blake Location: Topeka on Oct 8, 2008 at 10:15 PM
you wrhs losers prolly thought that was funny i dont see any humor in that, i dont see any humor in what yall at wrhs do like i say your ALL losers as far as im concerned

Posted by: anonymous on Oct 8, 2008 at 08:05 PM
I agree...go after someone who is actually doing something wrong...they only showed their buttcheeks...sometimes the cheerleaders do that!

Posted by: Wayne Location: Beloit on Oct 8, 2008 at 06:20 PM
If this was such a acceptable event why not publish it all over the internet. Post it for posterity so that their kids and grandkids will know the great things they did in school.

Posted by: andi on Oct 8, 2008 at 05:51 PM
good clean fun ? so this is what the thing that all the kids should do .. please .. there needs to be consequences

Posted by: alvero Location: holton on Oct 8, 2008 at 05:12 PM
And these individuals are going to be our future leaders. Heaven Help us.

Posted by: dan Location: holton on Oct 8, 2008 at 05:00 PM
Some how we Americans have to be taught that we have to be responsible for our actions. I think that to not punish them would allow then to think that they can continue to act in such a childish manner. Are going to be a nation of dimwits. I was in high school in the 50s and we woould not have thought of doing something as stupid as that. What ever happened to public decency?

Posted by: Brandy Location: Topeka on Oct 8, 2008 at 02:58 PM
I think you should leave them alone to. They didn't do anything wrong. When I was there we had a huge riot and not much was done about that. At least they covered their fronts. If parents are laughing and students are complaining stop making a big deal out of it. Boys keep on streaking and next time cover your faces!

Posted by: sam h Location: wrhs on Oct 8, 2008 at 02:47 PM
i went crowd surfing!

Posted by: whiteindian Location: topeka on Oct 8, 2008 at 12:26 PM
Leave the kids alone. People have been streaking sporting events for 50 years. This is no different. I laughed my butt off. I agree, go after the thugs and druggies in your school, and future inmates of our correctional facilities. Good clean fun. Nothing wrong with that. I'm over 60 and it was really a HOOT!!

Posted by: Makayla Location: Topeka on Oct 8, 2008 at 12:17 PM
Im a sopomore at washburn and i was at the game and that was sooo funny to see!!! it really got the crowd excited and pumped!

Posted by: Anonymous on Oct 8, 2008 at 11:28 AM
I agree!! Leave them alone! It was funny. I couldn't stop laughing!! We have gangs and things and you guys are worried about two inoccent streakers?! WOW! Get over it

Posted by: Flash Location: Topeka on Oct 8, 2008 at 10:14 AM
It's not like this is the first time WRHS has had a streaker. We use to have a lot of them back in the 70s when I attended WRHS. The only difference between now and then is that these guys got caught. Kids will be kids....leave them alone.

Posted by: Danielle Location: WRHS on Oct 8, 2008 at 09:10 AM
Classic. No punishment should should be admitted. Just clean fun.. 437 Staff should worry about more important things. It's really sad that they're putting all their effort into this when there is much more issues going on around school.

Posted by: Jill Location: Topeka on Oct 8, 2008 at 08:42 AM
Amen! Leave them alone- we all did crazy stuff in high school, they were just being kids. And whoever said they should be on the track team, brilliant!

Posted by: John Location: Topeka on Oct 8, 2008 at 08:19 AM
AMEN...Teacher Leave those kids alone!! The track coach should get them on the track team, those kids can Run!! LMAO.. Too funny. Save the punishment for the little thugs and future inmates running around your schools. Theres were you should be looking..

Posted by: Lynn Location: Topeka on Oct 8, 2008 at 03:33 AM
Hilarious!! It was just some good clean fun they don't deserve punishment! USD 437 should worry more the drug dealers and the bullies in the schools! Leave these boys alone!!

Posted by: KRIS Location: TOPEKA on Oct 8, 2008 at 03:28 AM
