Fort Riley Soldier Found Dead in Apartment Save Email Print

UPDATE Authorities say the soldier's death has been ruled a suicide.

JUNCTION CITY, Kan. - An investigation is underway into the death of a Fort Riley soldier found in a Junction City apartment.

Police responded to a report of a man not breathing at about 3:23 a.m. Wednesday at an apartment at 919 Valley View Drive.

Officers found the body of a 41-year-old Junction City resident who they say was also a Fort Riley soldier.

The manner and cause of his death are under investigation and interviews with witnesses are ongoing. An autopsy was ordered and is expected to be performed late Wednesday in Topeka.

The case is still under investigation. The victim's identity is not being released pending notification of relatives.
