TOPEKA, Kan. - The trial of a man charged in a 1989 Topeka homicide has been delayed.

Theodore Netherland was set for trial July 30, 2008 in the death of Karen Estes at the Hillcrest Community Center 19 years ago.

Court documents indicate Netherland’s attorney, Joseph Huerter, dropped out of the case and Kathleen Ambrosio officially became Netherland's attorney July 8.

Judge Evelyn Wilson Wednesday rescheduled the trial to September 29 to allow Ambrosio more time to prepare.
